How to Declare the B.I.S.
Students build their BIS degree by combining two or three disciplines into a focus area. You are encouraged to use previously earned credits from VCU or another school if you have them. In the BIS, students decide their own coursework with our dedicated staff.
Ready to get started? Here’s how:
Step 1: Attend an Info Session
Learn about the program requirements, expectations, and opportunities.
Step 2: Meet with an Advisor and begin your declaration
Email the advisor who works with your last name to map out your plan and kickstart the official process.
Step 3: Finalize your declaration
Work with your advisor over the course of the semester to officially lock in your status.
